I have been obsessed with computers and technology since early childhood. I can remember when I was 10 spending time with my best friend copying hexadecimal code from the back of Byte magazine into the family Commodore64 computer. We worked for hours and hours, and when we were done, we had a video game that we could play.

This trend continued through grade school college where I gained experience tinkering with MSDOS and Windows computers. But then, a friend introduced me to the Macintosh. She took me to the Mac lab to type up our English papers. I had never seen a Mac before, but it was definitely love at first sight. I wrote text, highlighted it with the mouse, and changed the typeface. I could see on screen what I had selected, and it perfectly matched what came out of the printer. What an amazing change from the function-key riddled wish-you-could-see-it Wordperfect for DOS that I had been using. I was hooked!

It wasn't long before I got a job with the campus computer department working in the student computer labs. Between that job and a subsequent Co-op job working for The Southern Company, I spent the next few years extending both my knowledge of computers and my love for all things Mac. Then, while I was working for The Southern Company, I met one of the owners of a small Atlanta Mac support company. Six months later, I began my long stint with them, providing 16 full years of outsource IT support for professional Mac users. During that time, I also met Steve, who would become my business partner as I began my final chapter: Technical Phoenix, LLC.
